About
I write creative, sometimes weird stories. Sometimes science fiction, sometimes horror, sometimes contemporary; mostly with an environmental theme.
Whatever the setting, my stories are about people. They’re about us, even when they’re not. They’re probably, deep, down, mostly about me.
I like to play with form and structure. My words have a rhythm and cadence that may or may not come from many years of listening to a lot of music.
I’m not afraid to let things get dark, but there’s mostly a spark of hope in there. Mostly. Because without hope, what’ve we got?
My solarpunk short story The Rider appears in Challenging the Tides: An Anthology of Hope, published by HumberSFF. It’s set in, and inspired by, the East Riding of Yorkshire where I’ve lived most of my life.
By day, I’m a copywriter and international conference speaker.
