This was my first crack at an event like this (‘cos I’ve never published anything before) and I had a grand old time. It was brilliant to meet some of my fellow authors (still not sure what I’m doing in this kind of company, but I’ll take it) and I really enjoyed reading from my story and chatting to Shellie. And fielding some brilliant questions from two young children in the audience.
Shellie was worried I was going to be nervous but to be honest when you’ve got up on stage to talk to several hundred lovely Belgian marketing pros about why they should make mixtapes more often, chatting to a bunch of equally lovely SF enthusiasts didn’t really phase me.
Anyway we sold all the books (don’t panic, you can still order one online and there are more on the way for the next event) and people said some very nice things about my story. So that was lovely.
